Welcome to Nadine's Classic Cuisine
The 1930s and 1940s were formative years in the American South. Harsh conditions brought on by the Great Depression cemented the role of the family, tied together by strong bonds of love, land, work, and history. Central to rural Southern communities was food; whether at a barbecue, fish fry, corn shucking, quilting bee, camp meeting, or barn dance. Mothers passed down to recipes to daughters, and as alterations were made over time, new family traditions of dishes made for every day and special occasions were born.
From this rich background, Nadine Wardenga of Cleveland, Georgia learned to craft homemade creations of her own family and friends. Simple ideas for enjoyable entertaining became the rule of thumb as friends and family gathered into her home for pleasant meals and fellowship.
Nadine's mother taught her to treat guests as royalty. Good manners and good food are always a great combination. Social occasions such as these were the beginning of Nadine's Classic Cuisine.
